PROJECT NÖEL

It is amazing how Credo Care’s inaugural mission 【 PROJECT NÖEL 】turned out.

A simple idea to benefit the children of Bantayan with 1 simple balikbayan box turned out to a full-scale medical-dental-optal-pedia mission benefiting Barangays Okoy and Balidbid.

I had no budget but God was rich and His providence provided for everything that was needed. I couldn’t be physically present to plan the mission but God sent His angels ahead. I couldn’t (and still can’t) speak Cebuano-Bisaya but God gave me the gift of tongues when it came to preaching at the Eucharist.

I stand amazed at the power of God and what it can do through broken vessels. Project Nöel is the work of God because I certainly couldn’t have executed any of this and with such great efficacy.

Where is Jesus? I saw Him on Gaudate Sunday on smiles on the faces of the people - young and old - in that wounded body of Christ injured by sin and the effects of sin.

I don’t believe that charity exists in God’s grand plan. Hence I envision Credo Care to endure to the end in helping local partners and stakeholders build a resilient community. Ultimately, a community that is emboldened by the Gospel and is challenged to be the leaven that upsets the structures that perpetuate sin and injustice so that all the children of God may be free and live in God’s abundance.

Pray for Credo Care as we discern God’s next step for our nascent initiative.

Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine: Glory to him from generation to generation in the Church, and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20, 21)
